A new mixed-use development coming to Alachua, Florida will enable more community members who work in the city’s growing biotech and life sciences industries to live and enjoy recreational activities without the need for a long commute. The 420-acre research community is being developed by Concept Companies and The Roberts Companies, and its purpose is to serve not only the employees who will work on campus but other community members as well.
“We want this to be a place where the outside community can come, even if they live outside the project or don’t work there,” said Brian Crawford, CEO of Concept Companies. “It’s something that everyone in our area can be proud of.”
The project will be located adjacent to Progress Corporate Park and neighbors the UF Innovate Sid Martin Biotech Incubator, and will be anchored by Momentum Labs.
Plans for the new development are expected to be ready to submit to the city for approval in the next few months.
